We offer two scheduled courses for High School aged youth. If our dates don’t work for you, private and custom courses can be scheduled all winter long.
Backcountry 101

Start the season off smart with this introductory backcountry course. We’ll show you the basics everyone has to learn to get started. The gear, basic avalanche safety, avalanche rescue, how to move in the mountains, and how to have the best time! This course is for strong-intermediate skiers and snowboarders who are new to using backcountry touring and avalanche safety equipment. Safety gear is available to rent and a limited amount of backcountry skis and snowboards are as well. Skis and boards are available on a first-come-first-served basis so sign up now!
Avalanche Awareness
February 17-19, 2024 (President’s Day Weekend)
$475
This avalanche safety-focused course is perfect for strong to intermediate skiers and snowboarders who have some basic backcountry touring experience and are familiar with the equipment. We will spend the weekend focused on identifying and avoiding mountain hazards, learning to use the terrain safely, perfecting our companion rescue skills, and learning where we can ski and ride any day of the week. Please reach out with questions about if this course is for you! Equipment is available for rent on a first-come-first-served basis.
